This beautiful 1941 Formal Sedan is part of a Kansas collection and has been in storage. Like most museum quality vehicles, it will need to be freshened up and checked over before it's put back on the road. We are looking for a good home for this beautiful car. We don't live close to the collection, so it will be difficult to show without an appointment. Please respond through this listing with questions. Thank you!
1941 Cadillac Fleetwood Series Sixty, Four-Door Formal Sedan.
Cadillac has long represented the pinnacle of American luxury, craftsmanship, and
engineering. In 1941, these distinguished automobiles symbolized prestige and success,
commanding attention wherever they traveled. This rare 1941 Cadillac Fleetwood Series
Sixty Formal Sedan is an elegant example of pre-war luxury and presents an outstanding
opportunity for the discerning collector.
This Cadillac benefits from an older restoration that has been carefully preserved and well
maintained over the years. One of its most distinctive features is the roll-up division glass
separating the front and rear passenger compartments, offering a true chauffeur-driven
experience reminiscent of a bygone era of luxury.
Interior
The inviting cabin features tan leather front seating paired with a plush upholstered rear
bench, complemented by matching door panels, brown carpeting, and an intact tan
headliner. Together, these appointments create a warm and refined atmosphere.
The factory steering wheel is equipped with a column-mounted three-speed manual
transmission and shows expected age-related wear, including several cracks. The
dashboard retains its original character with a 100 MPK speedometer, auxiliary gauges,
heater controls, analog clock, push-button radio, glove compartment, and wood grain
painted trim extending across the dashboard and window surrounds. The wood grain
trimming the dash exhibits light wear consistent with the vehicle's age.
Engine and Chassis
Power comes from Cadillac's renowned flathead V8 engine equipped with an external oil
filter. The engine compartment presents well, showing only minor dirt and light oil residue
with no visible surface rust. The chassis and undercarriage remain stock and display
typical light oil and road grime expected of a preserved vintage automobile.
Factory-style 15-inch red steel wheels fitted with Cadillac chrome hubcaps and wide
whitewall tires complete the car's distinguished appearance.
Exterior
Finished in black, the paint retains an attractive shine and presents very well. Factory
fender skirts enhance the car's elegant profile, while the straight chrome bumpers,
distinctive rectangular grille, inset parking lights, and integrated headlights showcase
Cadillac's timeless styling.
Red and amber fog lamps are mounted beneath the headlights, and the remaining exterior
lighting appears complete and in good cosmetic condition. However, because the vehicle
currently does not have a battery installed, the functionality of the lighting system has not
been verified.
Additional exterior highlights include the split windshield, three-piece rear window, dual
side mirrors, a graceful red pinstripe at window level, and the iconic chrome "Flying Lady"
hood ornament crowning the radiator.
Mechanical Condition
Although this Cadillac has been carefully preserved following its restoration, it has been
stored indoors for several years with all fluids drained except the engine oil. As a result, the
vehicle is not currently roadworthy and will require mechanical recommissioning before
being returned to service. Recommended work includes servicing the fuel system, braking
system, drivetrain, and other mechanical components as part of a thorough inspection.
For the collector seeking a solid, well-preserved pre-war luxury automobile, this Cadillac
represents an exceptional foundation with the potential to become both an award-worthy
showpiece and a highly enjoyable touring classic.
